To share, meet and learn for sustainable cocoa

farmers & labourers

On a cocoa farm, you can find other people farming next to the farmers and his or her (extended) family: think of sharecroppers, day labourers, neighbours and other people performing (paid) labour. Also children help out on the farm to support their families.

Despite many attempts to address the issue of child labour, it turns out to be quite a challenge to free cocoa farms from any form of child labour.

Food for thought

A publication of SWAC/OECD shares ways of combating the worst forms of child labour successfully.
