The cocoa chain (or a cocoa farmer) does not work in isolation. It is embedded in an environment that influences its functioning. "Markets&policies" is about the context that shapes the reality of cocoa farming and how sustainability fits in.

Under this theme you can learn on economic, social and environmental policies. You can also find out more about price developments, links between cocoa production and food security and rural transformation.

Food for thought

Both governments, civil society and companies have committed themselves to sustainable cocoa production and consumption. In the Netherlands a letter of intent was signed for this purpose.
